HOUSTON — A group of business owners are suing the proprietors of a Pasadena flea market, alleging they caused a fire to break out.

Nimia Rocha, individually and doing business as Nimia's Toys, Emigdio Olguin, individually and doing business as Olguin Records, Altagracia Rivera, individually and doing business as Tata's Bows and Tutus, Elizabeth Romero, individually and doing business as J&E Title Services, Eric Granado, individually and doing business as Pupusa Mex, and Virginia Arellano individually and doing business as Stephanie's Boutique & More, filed a complaint April 17 in Harris County District Court against Jumping World Inc., and Andrea Amusement Properties Inc., alleging liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs were all vendors in an indoor flea market, 2222 Spencer Highway, Pasadena on Oct. 13, 2017. The suit says the defendants negligently caused a fire to break out while doing welding operations with no protective covering.

The plaintiffs allege the fire caused substantial damages to their properties.

The plaintiffs seek damages, including at least $500 for cleaning costs, property damage and loss of earnings, attorney fees, court costs and all equitable relief. They are represented by attorney L.A. Carrasco of Houston.
