HOUSTON — A maintenance worker is suing a Houston apartment compley owner, alleging the plaintiff worked overtime regularly without being paid the appropriate rate.
Harshavardhan Yadav filed a complaint April 25 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Globix Sunset Crossings LLC and Globix Investments LLC, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA.)
According to the complaint Yadav worked for the Globix 2013 to 2018 at the defendants' apartment house complex in Houston. The suit states Globix regularly expected the plaintiff to work more than 40 hours a week.
The plaintiff said he was paid a set rate but that rate was not adjusted for the overtime hours worked of more than 40 per week, showing a clear disregard for FLSA.
Yadav seeks liquidated damages, unpaid overtime compensation as is owed, attorney fees, court costs and all other just and proper relief. He is represented by attorney Josh Sanford of Sanford Law Firm PLLC in Little Rock, Arkansas.
