Concertgoer alleges assault by club bouncers

HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing a group of club bouncers, alleging they assaulted him.

Antonio Martinez filed a complaint April 23 in Harris County District Court against Sticky Promotions, Tarek O. Hassan, Nicholas Medrano, Steel Protection, and Johnny Joe Jr. Ramos, alleging battery and negligence.

Martinez says he was attending a concert at Mercy Night Club on July 15, 2017. The suit alleges he was falsely accused of assaulting another guest and was then surrounded and assaulted by the night club's employees. The plaintiff allegedly suffered injuries due to the assault, leading to physical pain, mental anguish and disfigurement..

The plaintiff alleges the club hired incompletent and extremely violent security employees.

Martinez seeks relief of more than $1 million, trial by jury, attorney fees, court costs and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorneys Eric D. Nielsen and Edward A. Festeryga of The Nielsen Law Firm P.C. in Houston.
