GALVESTON — A motorist is suing another driver and his employer, alleging their negligence led to her suffering injuries in a car crash.
Venus Coleman filed a complaint on May 6 in the Galveston County District Court against the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and Eduardo Nuncio ,alleging negligence,
According to the complaint on June 28, 2018, Nuncio, driving a Ford van owned by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, was distracted. The suit says he failed to yield right of way at the intersection of Avenue J and 23rd Street in Galveston, and struck Coleman's car.
The suit alleges Coleman sustained serious injuries, physical pain, disfigurement, medical expenses and a loss of earning capacity.
Coleman seeks trial by jury, between $100,000 and $200,000 and all damages deemed fit. She is represented by attorney Brad T. Wyly of Wyly & Cook PLLC in Houston.
