Customer alleges Randall's negligence led to fall, injuries

HOUSTON — A Galveston County woman is suing Randall's and others, alleging she was injured due to a broken tile on the restroom floor of the defendant's store.

Melanie Morris filed a complaint May 13 in Harris County District Court against Albertson's LLC, Albertson's Companies LLC, Randall's Food Market, Randall's Food & Drug LP, AB Acquisition LLC, and Cerberus Capital Management LP, alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, Morris was shopping at the Randall's supermarket, 3131 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston on July 16, 2017. The suit says Morris was using the Randall's restroom when she tripped and fell on a broken floor tile, causing her to be severely injured, leading to physical pain and disfigurement and medical expenses.

Morris seeks between $200,000 and $1 million in damages and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Stephanie B. Sherman and Alexander G. Dwyer of Kirkendall Dwyer LLP in Dallas.
