HOUSTON — A Houston man is suing a Spring bar and grill, alleging that he was attacked by another group of patrons and that the management of the establishment did not intervene.
Derrick McGee filed a complaint May 13 in Harris County District Court against Stadium at the Spring Center doing business as Stadium Bar & Grill Inc., alleging premises liability.
According to the complaint, on May 14, 2017, McGee was at Stadium Bar & Grill for a graduation dinner with several friends and family. The suit says McGee's party was heckled by a group of patrons, and Stadium Bar & Grill's staff failed to diffuse the situation.
McGee alleges the other patrons attacked him, stabbing him multiple times and causing his hospitalization for stitches to save the plaintiff's life. The suit says the defendant had been negligent in intervening during another fight prior to the plaintiff's incident.
McGee seeks trial by jury, relief of more than $1 million, exemplary damages, interest, attorney fees, court costs and all other equjitable relief. He is represented by attorney Treshaun D. Meredith of Calhoun, Meredith & Sims PLLC in Houston.
