GALVESTON — A customer is suing a Keman boat company and sales group, alleging he was sold a damaged boat and it was not repaired.

Randall Knight filed a complaint May 13 in Galveston County District Court against The Nautic Group Inc., Kevin Kaiser and Veranda Marine Inc., alleging liability, breach of contract, negligence, fraudulent inducement, fraud and violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act,

According to the complaint, Knight purchased a new 2017 Veranda boat and trailer from Nautic Group and Kaiser in May 2017. Knight alleges the purchase came with a lifetime warranty from Veranda, but he was presented with a different trailer than what he was told was being sold.

Knight also says he was aware that there were a number of damages to the boat, and he sent the vessel to the defendant for repairs. After the repairs, the plaintiff says he discovered new damages. Veranda Marine, the suit says, said it would fix the damages but has failed to do so.

Knight seeks damages in excess of $10,000 as well as monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, costs of suit, attorney fees and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorneys Annie McAdams and Matthew S. Parmet of Houston.
