HOUSTON — An employee is suing a hair salon, alleging she was harassed and eventually assaulted.

Mandana Alborz Aramesh filed a complaint May 14 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Regis Corporation, doing business as TGF Hair Salon, alleging discrimination and assault.

The plaintiff is a 59-year-old female of Iranian national origin. According to the complaint, Aramesh was discriminated against and harassed in front of customers, due to her nationality, gender and age. The plaintiff says she had voiced her concerns about the abuse but no actions were taken.

The plaintiff alleges eventually she was assaulted, leading her to seek the care of mental health professionals.

Aramesh seeks actual damages of $250,000, interest, costs of suit, attorney fees, punitive damages of $500,000 and all other apropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Kevin A. Murray of Houston.
