HOUSTON – A Houston woman alleges the company that purchased her pharmacy failed to honor an agreement regarding her pay.

Carletta Winston filed a complaint on May 20 in the Harris County District Court against Winston's Pharmacy Inc. and Kazi Hossain, doing business as Golden Crescent Pharmacy LLC, alleging breach of contract and fraud.

The suit states the plaintiff was the owner and sole shareholder of Winston's Pharmacy for nine years and in 2018 decided to sell the pharmacy to Golden Crescent Pharmacy. The plaintiff alleges the agreement included the stipulation that the plaintiff would be employed by the defendants for one year beginning on Sept. 8, 2018. The suit states the plaintiff's salary was to be $94,000 for the first six months and $114,000 for the next six months.

The plaintiff alleges was subjected to verbal abuse and terminated the employment agreement for cause. She alleges the defendants have failed to pay her the contractual amount required in the agreement.

The plaintiff is seeking attorneys' fees, relief between $200,000 and $1 million, exemplary and punitive damages, costs, expenses, interest, and other relief deemed fit. The plaintiff is represented by Elizabeth Bohorquez of Bohorquez Hoefker PLLC in Houston.
