Worker alleges towing company caused his injuries

Lawsuits

HOUSTON — An employee is suing a towing company, alleging he was told to work beyond company requirements, which caused him to be injured.

Mustafa R. Jan filed a complaint May 21 in Harris County District Court against Houston Armada Inc., doing business as Armada Towing, alleging gross negligence.

According to the complaint, Jan was working for Armada Towing on April 24. The plaintiff said his job was to provide roadside assistance for motorists who had flat tires or breakdowns. Jan said he complained of pain after changing two tires but was told to change another tire on a third vehicle even though that was in excess of the company's policy of two cars.

The plaintiff alleges as he was lifting a tire for a change on a full-sized SUV, he experienced severe pain from his lower back up through his neck and shoulder area, resulting in damages to his back, neck and shoulder.

Jan seeks trial by jury, damages of $1 million, medical expenses, punitive damages, costs of suit, interest and other just relief. He is represented by attorneys Anthony G. Buzbee, Caroline E. Adams and Fernando R. Garza, of The Buzbee Law Firm in Houston.
