Customer alleges discount store negligence caused fall

Lawsuits

HOUSTON — A Cleveland, Texas, woman is suing a Houston discount store, alleging she was injured in a fall and has been unable to return to work.

Isabel Alba-Terrones filed a complaint May 22 in Harris County District Court against 99 Cents Only Stores Texas Inc., and 99 Cents Only Stores LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Alba-Terrones was at the 99 Cents Only store, 11873 Bissonnet St., Houston, on May 31, 2017. The suit says as Alba-Terrones was walking to the register she slipped and fell on the floor and began to feel extreme pain in her arm, hand, back and neck.

The plaintiff said she has been unable to return to work because of the pain that was caused by the defendant failing to maintain a reasonably safe floor and has sustained disability and medical expenses.

Alba-Terrones seeks trial by jury, monetary relief up to $100,000 interest, court costs and other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Sameh Aly and Woodrow Brown of Aly and Associates PLLC in Houston
