HOUSTON — A Haitian man is suing his former employer, alleging he was unfairly terminated on the basis of race.

Nikolson Lacour filed a complaint May 28 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Apache Corporation, alleging racial discrimination an violation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, Lacour was hired by Apace on July 17, 2018, as an engineer. The suit states Lacour was discriminated against due to his French accent and that he was a black Haitian. He allegedly was routinely treated with disrespect prior to being terminated.

The plaintiff says he has filed a complaint with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Lacour seeks trial by jury and all proper relief. He is representing himself.
