Favors for a Price alleges car service shop damaged vehicle during oil change

HOUSTON — A Harris County company in suing a Houston car service shop, alleging the plaintiff's vehicle was damaged during an oil change.

Favors for a Price LLC filed a complaint June 1 in Harris County District Court against Jose Lopez and Road Runner Service Point, alleging breach of contract, breach of duties, fraud, negligence, misrepresentation and deceptive trade practices.

According to the complaint, Favors for a Price brought one of its trucks to Road Runner Service Point, 4926 N. McCarty St., Houston, for an oil change in July 2018. The suit states after the oil change was completed, the plaintiff noticed that the truck had a number of problems, requiring thousands of dollars to repair. 

The defendant has denied any responsibility for the damages, despite causing the plaintiff $4,966.73 worth of repairs.

Favors for a Price seeks monetary relief up to $100,000, attorney fees, trial by jury, actual and consequential damages, exemplary and additional damages, court costs, interest, and all other equitable relief.
