HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing Marshalls, alleging a loose rug caused her to fall at a Marshalls' store.

Maria De Los Reyes Heredia filed a complaint June 5 in Harris County District Court against The TJX Companies Inc., doing business as Marshalls, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Heredia was at the Marshalls, 550 Meyerland Plaza, Houston on June 25, 2018. The suit says Heredia slipped and fell over a loose rug, causing her to suffer serious physical injuries, plus mental anguish and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Marshalls failed to maintain its store in a reasonable safe manner.

Heredia seeks between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury, interest, court costs and all other equitable relief. She is represented by attorneys Abraham Garcia and Carlos A. Saldana of KGS Law Group in Houston.
