HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a local YMCA, alleging she was injured when she fell at the facility.

Marisol Longoria filed a complaint June 10 in Harris County District Court against Young Men's Christian Association of the Greater Houston Area, doing business and Brenda and John Duncan YMCA, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Longoria entered the YMCA facility, 10655 Clay Road, Houston, on April 21, 2018, to attend a youth basketball game. The suit says Longoria slipped and fell on liquid that had been left on the ground. The plaintiff says her knee popped out of place as she fell to floor, striking her elbow and further injuring herself.

The suit alleges the plaintiff sustained pain and suffering, mental anguish, disability, impairment and medical expenses. Longoria says the YMCA posted no warnings of the danger.

Longoria seeks between $100,000 and $200,000, actual damages, interest, court costs and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Jordan A. Glaze, Josh Garrett and Andrew M. Birdsell of Glaze Garrett in Gilmer.
