HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing AMC, alleging she was caused to fall in one of the defendant's movie theaters.

Monica Jones filed a complaint June 11 in Harris County District Court against American Multi-Cinema Inc., doing business as AMC Theatres Gulf Pointe 30, alleging liability and negligence.

According to the complaint on July 1, 2018, Jones was a guest at the AMC facility, 11801 S. Sam Houston Parkway East, Houston. The suit says Jones slipped and fell on a wet substance that had been left on the ground. Jones alleges she twisted her ankle and sustained severe and painful injuries, plus suffering and mental anguish.

Jones seeks between $200,000 and $1 million, actual, special and consequential damages, interest, court costs and all other just and equitable relief. She is represented by attorney Jeffrey N. Todd of The Todd Law Group PLLC in Houston.
