Supplier alleges building company owes nearly $6,000 for damaged equipment

GALVESTON — A Harris County equipment supplier is suing a building company, alleging the defendant owes nearly $6,000 for equipment that was damaged while in use.

J. L. Floyd Services LLC filed a complaint June 13 in the Galveston County District Court against SETX Builders LLC, alleging breach of an agreement.

According to the complaint, SETX took possession of a Floyd Services excavator for a project at a Valvoline business, 1711 W. League City Parkway, League City. The suit alleges the defendant had agreed to pay for any damages made to the equipment while it used it. The defendant allegedly did indeed damage the excavator but has failed to reimburse the plaintiff for $5,809.34.

J.L. Floyd Services seeks the $5,809.34 owed, attorney fees, actual damages, interest, costs of the suit and all other just and equitable relief. It is represented by attorney Rich Melendez of Melendez Law PC in Houston.
