GALVESTON — A Galveston County construction company owner is suing a drywall contractor, alleging the defendant's work was done poorly.

Erick Garcia, doing business as Garcia Construction, filed a complaint June 20 in Galveston County District Court against Jose S. Depaz and Dora M. Garcia, doing business as Acero Drywall Construction, alleging violation of the Deceptive Trace Practices Act and threat of bodily injury.

According to the complaint Garcia hired Acero Drywall to perform work at a worksite but the defendant did such a poor job that the plaintiff was required to seek out another company to fix and repair the defendant's defective work.

The suit also alleges the defendants threatened the plaintiff with bodily injury.

Garcia Construction seeks monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000, actual damages, treble damages, interest, court costs, attorney fees and all other just relief. It is represented by attorney Fernando F. Valdes of Valdes & Alba in Alvin.
