GALVESTON — Galveston Aviation Services is suing the city, alleging its lease was unfairly terminated.

Galveston Aviation Services Inc. filed a complaint June 25 in Galveston County District Court against the city of Galveston, alleging wrongful termination of a lease.

According to the complaint, Galveston Aviation has been a fixed-based operator for more than 10 years at Scholes International Airport. The suit states on April 1, Island Jet Center LLP began providing services at the same airport. The director of Scholes allegedly sent the plaintiff a letter May 31, informing it that the city was terminating its lease at the airport effective June 30.

The plaintiff alleges this termination is wrongful as well as in violation of the terms of the lease.

Galveston Aviation Services seeks declaratory judgment, a temporary restraining order against the city, a temporary injunction and permanent injunction against the city and all other just relief. It is represented by attorney Dan G. Hoffman in Houston.
