GALVESTON — A Friendswood woman is suing Walmart, alleging that she was caused to slip and fall on water left on the floor of the defendant's store in La Marque.

June Baker filed a complaint July 2 in Galveston County District Court against Walmart Stores Texas LLC and Walmart Stores Texas LP, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Baker was a guest at Walmart, 6410 Interstate Highway 45, La Marque on July 3, 2017. The suit says Baker suffered serious injuries when she slipped and fell on water that had been left on a main aisle of the store.

The plaintiff says due to the defendant's failure to warn of the danger, she has sustained pain and suffering, mental anguish, impairment and lost earnings.

Baker seeks monetary relief of less than $75,000, court costs, interest, attorney fees and other equitable relief. She is represented by attorney S. Chris Nallie-Courtney of the Law Office of S.C. Nallie-Courtney in Friendswood.
