Trophy

Greenberg Traurig, P.A. issued the following announcement on July 11.

Audrey Chang, of counsel in the Houston office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has been named a 2019 Role Model by the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce.

Chang is one of 26 executives and entrepreneurs in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts and math, or STEAM, who will be recognized by the chamber at the annual “Women in the Fast Lane of STEAM” luncheon, Sept. 20. The event benefits several of the chamber’s programs and scholarship initiatives.

“Whether she’s in the office or volunteering her time in the community, Audrey is always an inspiration to others and fully committed to the initiatives in which she’s involved,” said Shari Heyen and Kent Newsome, co-managing shareholders of the Houston office, in a joint statement. “We are incredibly proud to see her recognized for inspiring the next generation of leaders.”

Chang, who joined Greenberg Traurig in 2008, is a member of the firm’s Banking and Financial Services Practice. She works with clients on corporate transactions, including commercial financings, oil and gas transactions, and other general corporate matters. She assists both commercial lenders and corporate clients in debt financing transactions and has represented purchasers and sellers in acquisition transactions. Additionally, Chang is experienced in representing institutional lenders in real estate construction and development loan transactions, low-income housing tax credit transactions, and corporate trusts in structured finance transactions.

In 2019, the Houston Business Journal selected Chang among its “40 Under 40” honorees. Texas Lawyer also awarded her with its 2019 Professional Excellence Award in the category of “On the Rise.” Chang is a six-time Texas Super Lawyers “Rising Star,” and in 2018, the magazine listed her among its “Up-and-Coming 50 Women” in Texas.
