SHERMAN — A Fannin County man is suing another driver and a transport company, alleging that he was injured in a vehicle crash due to the defendants' negligence.

Roy Gene Schickedanz filed a complaint July 11 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against J.B. Hunt Transport Inc., and Donald Ray Twist alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Schickedanz was driving a farm tractor on SH 121 in Fannin County on Aug. 16, 2018. The suit alleges Twist, driving a tractor-trailer while employed for J.B. Hunt Transport, was also driving on the same road in the same direction. Twist allegedly became distracted and struck Schickedanz's vehicle in the rear, resulting in significant damages to the vehicle and causing the plaintiff to suffer physical injuries. The suit says the plaintiff had to be airlifted for surgery.

The plaintiff alleges due to Twist's inattentive driving, he sustained physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement and medical expenses.

Schickedanz seeks interest, attorney fees, court costs, costs of the suit and all just relief. He is represented by attorney Kern A. Lewis of The Law Offices of Frank L. Branson PC in Dallas.
