Photographer alleges Beyond Group Travel used his photo without consent

HOUSTON — A photographer is suing a Katy travel agency, alleging it used his photo without consent.

Jonathan Webb filed a complaint July 12 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas against Beyond Group Travel Inc., alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, Webb, is the owner of an aerial shot of Southampton, England. The suit states the photo was registered with the U.S. Copyright Office. The defendant allegedly used the image to promote a cruise ship without licensing the image from the plaintiff or obtaining permission or consent.

Webb seeks trial by jury, statutory damages of up to $150,000 per infringement, all profits, income and other benefits derived by unlawful conduct, attorney fees, interest, and all other just nd proper relief. He is represented by attorney Richard Liebowitz of Liebowitz in Valley Stream, New York.
