HOUSTON — A Texas man and his insurance firm are suing a client, alleging the defendant filed a frivolous and defamatory lawsuit.

Ahmed Salha and Insurance Leader Group Inc. filed a complaint July 15 in Harris County District Court against Assaad Elloubani, individually and doing business as RoadNet Inc., and the Ghuneim Law Firm alleging defamation and harassment.

According to the complaint Salha is the principal owner of Insurance Leader Group, and Elloubani contacted the plaintiff to provide insurance coverage for the defendant's business interests. In 2014, the suit alleges, Elloubani and the Ghuneim Law Firm filed a false and frivolous suit for purposes of harassment against the plaintiffs, alleging Salha and his insurance business had failed to take professional commercial actions on the defendants' behalf and had committed deceptive trade practices, conversion, fraud, breach of contract and negligence. The plaintiff alleges the defendants were libelous in their actions.

Salha seeks actual damages, costs of suit, exemplary damages, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by attorneys John H. Lester and Arden J. Morley of The Morley Law Firm in Stafford.
