99 Cents Only customer alleges store's negligence caused fall

HOUSTON —  A customer man is suing a Houston dollar store, alleging he slipped and fell on liquid left on the ground.

Edward Padilla filed a complaint July 22 in Harris County District Court against 99 Cents Only Stores Texas Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Padilla was at 99 Cents Only at 251 W. Greens Road, Houston, on Dec. 17, 2017. The suit alleges Padilla was caused to slip and fall on liquid that had been left on the floor without any warning signs.

The plaintiff alleges he suffered serious injuries, mental anguish and loss of wages due to 99 Cents Only' failure to properly inspect the property.

Padilla seeks court costs, attorney fees, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, interest and all equitable relief. He is represented by attorney E.Z. Ilionsky of Ilionsky Law PLLC in Houston.
