HOUSTON – The State Bar of Texas has listed area legislator and attorney Ron Reynolds as disbarred.
Reynolds, a Democrat who was first elected in 2010, was arrested in 2012 for barratry (ambulance chasing) and convicted in 2015. He was reelected last November while serving time.
The District 27 representative was charged with paying a convicted felon to obtain clients referrals (mostly automobile collision victims) for his personal injury law firm.
Reynolds’ disbarment hearing was on July 26.
The Texas Bar website lists him as not eligible to practice law in Texas.
