JACKSON LEWIS: Jackson Lewis Attorney Maggie Murphy is Elected to AILA Board of Governors

Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, congratulates Austin Office Managing Principal Maggie Murphy on her recent election to the Board of Governors for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). As a board member, she will support the Association and its mission to promote justice, advocate for fair and reasonable immigration law and policy, advance the quality of immigration and nationality law and practice, and enhance the professional development of its members. Ms. Murphy’s appointment was announced by AILA in June and she will serve a three-year term.

Ms. Murphy focuses her practice on advanced U.S. immigration and nationality law and global business immigration matters, assisting employers with immigration challenges facing international workforces. She has extensive experience in all areas of U.S. immigration law, but she primarily focuses her current practice on employment-based immigration for corporate clients and outstanding professors/researchers, as well as sophisticated I-9 and E-Verify compliance work for employers of all sizes.

Ms. Murphy also has experience in managing PERM campaigns for employers and in developing cost-effective strategies for companies and organizations interested in hiring professional foreign workers. She has organized massive I-9, E-Verify and LCA compliance programs for Fortune 500 organizations. Ms. Murphy is Board Certified in Immigration & Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She is a frequent speaker on business-related immigration compliance topics and has leadership roles in several state and national sections and committees.

Ms. Murphy previously served a one-year term on the Board of Governors as the Chapter Chair for the AILA Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico Chapter in 2017-2018 and was on the AILA National Governance Committee in 2018-2019.

Ms. Murphy earned her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and her B.A. from St. Edward’s University.
