Construction worker alleges negligence caused fall through floor at Holiday Inn site

HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing a construction team and Holiday Inn, alleging he fell through flooring due to negligence.

Fernando Alexander filed a complaint Aug. 13 in Harris County District Court against Holiday Inn Express North Main, New Classic Investments Inc., doing business as Classic Construction Company Builders & Developers, and NAP Properties II LLC, alleging negligence and liability.

According to the complaint, Alexander was working at the construction site of Holiday Inn Express North Main at 3401 N. Main near downtown Houston on July 29. The suit says Alexander was pouring concrete on the seventh floor when the floor collapsed and the plaintiff fell all the way the sixth floor below. 

The suit states the plaintiff sustained injuries due to the fall, plus pain and suffering and mental anguish.

Alexander seeks trial by jury, interest, court costs, relief of more than $1 million and all other just relief. He is represented by attorneys Richard J. Plezia and Alice Lima Lovchick of Richard J. Plezia & Associates in Houston and Jeffrey R. Vaughan of Vaughan Law Firm PC in Houston.
