GALVESTON — A Galveston County couple alleging a neighbor assaulted them have obtained a permanent inunction.

Bradley Ballard and Michelle Ballard filed a complaint April 30 in the Galveston County District Court against Devin Spinks, alleging assault.

The plaintiffs and defendant are neighbors in Friendswood. The suit states on April 28, Spinks threatened Bradley Ballard via text message. That same day, the defendant allegedly encountered the plaintiffs in their vehicle and the two cars nearly collided.

The lawsuit alleges Spinks then began to aggressively follow the Ballards to their home and eventually crashed into the side of the Ballards' boat trailer. The suit says Spinks then got out of his vehicle and began to threaten the plaintiffs and punched their car windows. The Ballards say they stayed in their vehicle trying to avoid a fight.

The plaintiffs allege they have since begun to look for another place to live as they no longer feel safe at home.

Court records show a permanent injunction was entered on Aug. 9.

The Ballards are represented by attorneys Christopher J. Johnson and Jimmy N. Smith of Johnson & Associates, Attorneys at Law PLLC in League City.
