HOUSTON — A Houston woman is suing a local mall, alleging she was caused to slip and fall due to a puddle.

Gracie Ann Vargas filed a complaint Aug. 14 in Harris County District Court against Metro National Corporation, doing business as Memorial City Mall, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Vargas was a guest at Memorial City Mall, 303 Memorial City Way, Houston on Sept. 5, 2018. The suit says Vargas was walking in a common area of the mall when she slipped and fell forward due to a leak that had caused a puddle to accumulate under a skylight.

The plaintiff alleges she sustained significant injuries, suffering, mental anguish and loss of earning capacity due to the negligence of the defendant.

Vargas seeks relief of more than $200,000, trial by jury, court costs and all just relief. She is represented by attorney S. Greg Rushing of Houston.
