HOUSTON — A Nueces County woman is suing a gas station, alleging she was filmed in the restroom.
April C. Herrera filed a complaint Aug. 12 in Harris County District Court against KL Plaza Inc,. and Lien T. Kim Hoang, alleging negligence and violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
According to the complaint, Herrera was at the Shell gas station, 11414 Richmond Ave., Houston, on May 7. The suit states Herrera was filmed while using the restroom due to a camera phone that had been affixed to a restroom fixture and was pointed at the toilet. The plaintiff said she confronted the defendant's employee who took the phone and ran out of the store.
The plaintiff accuses the defendant of negligent hiring and negligent retention and failure to properly supervise.
Herrera seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $ 1 million, interest, attorney fees, court costs and all just relief. She is represented by attorneys David M. Glenn of Glenn Law Firm in Grapevine and by Paula Elliott Estefan and J. Wayne Little of Elliott & Little in Conroe.
