HOUSTON — An employee is suing a Houston hospital, alleging she was subjected to sexual harassment before being terminated.

Amanda Washington of Humble filed a complaint on Aug. 12 in the Harris County District Court against Grace Care Center at Veterans Memorial, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation.

According to the complaint, Washington began to be subjected to sexual advances by a patient in June 2018. The plaintiff said she rejected the advances and reported them to her unit manager who failed to do more than list the behavior of the patient in his charts.

The plaintiff alleges she continued to be subjected to similar treatment, reporting the behavior to Dr. Christopher Ojeih, the head medical doctor, but nothing was done about it. Washington alleges she took some time off due to stress-induced asthma in August 2018 and was eventually terminated later in 2018 after the defendant failed to make any proactive action to protect her.

Washington seeks trial by jury, interest, attorney fees, court costs and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Katrina S. Patrick of the Law Offices of Katrina Patrick in Bellaire.
