HOUSTON —A doctor is suing a group of health companies alleging they have not carried out stipulations of a contract.

Dr. Scott Cohen, who performs surgery on patients who have suffered from cancer,  filed a complaint Aug 15 in the Harris County District Court against The Palladium for Surgery — Houston Ltd., and Nobilis Health Corp., formerly known as Northstar Healthcare Inc., alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, Cohen was involved in a number of suits in which he had to pay settlements. The suit states that since the settlements have been reached, the plaintiff has been caused damages by the defendants' failure to carry out the requirements of the contract and that Cohen is entitled to all payments that came out of his pocket.

Cohen seeks attorney fees, court costs, interest and all just relief. He is represented by attorney Kent Altsuler of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP in Houston.
