HOUSTON — A patient is suing a Houston medical team, alleging negligence cause her to suffer eye damages.

Kendall Harris filed a complaint Aug. 22 in the County District Court against registered nurse Melissa Weaver and Memorial Hermann Health System, doing business as Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Harris came to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital Sept. 5, 2017 to have a number of eye procedures carried out. The suit states that despite a product warning against Hibiclens being used on the eyes, Weaver, the nurse presiding over Harris' care prepped the plaintiff's upper facial skin with Hibiclens, causing the plaintiff to suffer injuries to her eye.

The suit alleges the plaintiff sustained pain and suffering, impairment and mental anguish.

Harris seeks trial by jury, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all just relief. She is represented by attorneys Tommy R. Hastings and Linda N. Phongdara of Hastings Law Firm PC in The Woodlands.
