GALVESTON — A Galveston County man is suing a Galveston apartment building owner, alleging he was injured due to a faulty staircase.

Felton Chambers filed a complaint Aug. 29 in Galveston County District Court against Aguiar Properties No. 4 LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Chambers was a guest of Aguiar Properties, 5010 Ave. K Rear, Apt. 2, Galveston on June 24. The suit alleges as Chambers was walking down a staircase of the apartment building the stairs started to shift under his feet, causing him to fall and sustain serious injuries to his back, foot and toes.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant was obligated to know the risks that existed and failed to warn or remedy the situation to protect the plaintiff.

Chambers seeks between $200,000 and $1 million, court costs, attorney fees, interest and all just relief. He is represented by attorney Mohammad Abdel-Rahman of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
