HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing her former employer alleging, she was harassed and ultimately suspended.

Veronica Contreras filed a complaint on Aug. 26 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Triple Vuong Corporation doing business as Watkins Center alleging sexual harassment, unlawful employment practices and retaliation.

According to the complaint, Contreras, who started working for Watkins Center in 2014, has been exposed to inappropriate treatment by store manager Kevin Huynh. The suit alleges Huynh has repeatedly made inappropriate comments to the plaintiff and has touched her in unwelcome ways and inappropriate places.

The plaintiff alleges she has repeatedly asked that the treatment cease but despite her requests, the treatment has not stopped. Additionally, Contreras says she has been retaliated against due to complaining about the treatment and was suspended for supposedly working two hours past her shift schedule during her break time. She states this had led to mental anguish and emotional pain

Contreras seeks trial by jury, back pay for the days she was suspended, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all equitable relief. She is represented by attorneys Marrick Armstrong and Amber Boyd of Pearland.
