Harris County consumer alleges debt collection company did not heed her complaints

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a Missouri debt collection company, alleging her disputes with the defendant were not heeded.

Roselyn I. Onwe filed a complaint Aug. 27 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against JHPDE Finance of Hazelwood, Missouri,  I LLC, Scott & Associates PC, Vince Handler SBN No.  24087660, alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, Onwe was sent a collection letters by Scott for a balance that was owed to JHPDE on Aug. 3, 2018, and Sept. 17, 2018. The plaintiff said she sent dispute letters to the Scott but the defendant continued to her demands for payment. The plaintiff said she been sued by the defendant who has failed to acknowledge the plaintiff's account disputes.

Onwe seeks trial by jury, statutory damages of $1,000, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all just relief. The plaintiff is representing herself.
