HOUSTON — A Houston woman is suing a debt collection agency, alleging she was unfairly harassed.

Ashley Mont-Louis filed a complaint Aug. 28 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Healthcare Revenue Recovery Group LLC, doing business as ARS Account Resolution Services, alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Texas Debt Collection Act.

According to the complaint, Mont-Lewis had defaulted on a debt and, starting in December 2018, ARS began to contact the plaintiff by phone in order to collect the debt. The defendant allegedly repeatedly called Mont-Lewis from several numbers, resulting in harassment and grief to the plaintiff.

Mont-Lewis seeks $500 in statutory damages for each violation, treble damages, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney James J. Parr of Agruss Law Firm LLC in Chicago.
