HOUSTON — A Missouri City woman is suing a credit company, alleging that she was harassed about a debt.

Sadie I. Palafox filed a complaint Aug. 30 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against MediCredit Inc, alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, Palafox was the account holder on an account that was in default for $43. MediCredit allegedly began to call the plaintiff to try to collect on a debt, and Palafox told the defendant to stop calling. The defendant, however, allegedly continued to call Palafox, causing the plaintiff to suffer a loss of time and energy.

Palafox seeks trial by jury, actual damages up to $1,000, attorney fees, court costs and all just and proper relief. They are represented by attorneys Joseph S. Davidson and Mohammed O. Badwan of Sulaiman Law Group in Lombard, Illinois
