HOUSTON — A Houston couple is suing a construction and design company, alleging the defendants performed work negligently.

Jennifer Johnson and Mark Salinas filed a complaint Aug. 26 in Harris County District Court against Nimtz Design Group, Eric Nimtz and engineer Henry E. Segura, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 6, 2012, Johnson and Salina entered into an agreement with Nimtz for work on their property at 1034 Rosepoint St., Houston. The plaintiffs allege there were numerous defects in the property that rendered the work done by the defendants useless.

Among the alleged defects were windows and doors that did not keep out water when Hurricane Harvey hit Aug. 26, 2017. Upon further inspection, the plaintiffs said they found the defects were related to poor design. The suit states the defendants were negligent in their work and, therefore, caused the plaintiffs to suffer financial and physical damages to their property.

Johnson and Salinas seek between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all just relief. They are represented by attorneys Courtney B. Gahm-Oldham and Stephen P. Crowder of McFall, Breitbeil & Eidman PC in Houston.
