Tenant alleges Houston property owner exposed him to toxic mold in apartment

HOUSTON — A tenant is suing a Houston property owner, alleging the plaintiff was exposed to toxic mold in his apartment.

Quinten E. Wilson filed a complaint Aug. 27 in Harris County District Court against Fat Property LLC, alleging breach of contract and liability.

According to the complaint, since Aug. 27, 2017, Wilson, who rented the defendant's property at 5610 Royal Palms St, Houston, has been exposed to toxic mold in his apartment due to the negligence and breach of contract of the defendant, which failed to provide a safe place to live.

The plaintiff alleges Fat Property failed to discover the mold and remove it within a reasonable time, which led to Wilson sustaining physical pain and suffering.

Wilson seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all just relief. He plaintiff is represented by attorney Cheryl G. Phillips of Houston.
