Houston rodeo visitor sues after boot tip catches unsealed portion of ground and causes fall

HOUSTON — A Spring woman is suing the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, alleging she was injured due to a dangerous condition that caused her to fall.

Desiree Romero filed a complaint Aug. 30 in the Harris County District Court against Aramark Sports & Entertainment Services of Texas Inc., Aramark Sports & Entertainment Services LLC, Harris County Sports & Conventional Corporation and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Romero Livestock and Rodeo March 3 at NRG Stadium. While at the defendant's facility, Romero says her boot tip became caught on an unsealed and unfastened outlet cover, causing her to fall and strike the ground with her entire body weight. The suit alleges she sustained physical injuries and mental anguish.

Romero seeks more than $1 million, trial by jury, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all just relief. She is represented by attorney Gloria Villatoro Flores of the Law Office of Gloria Villatoro Flores in Houston.
