HOUSTON — A Louisiana seaman is suing a drilling company, alleging he was injured due to the negligent maintenance of a worksite.

Elray Duncan filed a complaint Sept. 4 in Harris County District Court against Noble Drilling (U.S.) LLC, Noble Drilling NHIL LLC and Noble Drilling Services Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint Duncan was employed as a crew member on the vessel Sam Croft on July 18. The suit states Duncan was assisting lift operations. The plaintiff states as he took a step back to assist a load being swung by a crane he fell over debris left on the vessel and fell.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants' negligence in failing to provide a proper and adequate crew and failing to provide proper supervision led to Duncan sustaining severe physical injuries and impairment.

Duncan seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all just relief. He is represented by attorneys Marcus R. Spagnoletti and Eric J. Rhine of Spagnoletti Law Firm in Houston.
