HOUSTON — An estate administrator is suing a Houston assisted living facility, alleging an elderly woman died there due to negligence.

Allison Morrow, individually and as independent executor of the estate of Peggy Boyette, deceased, and Angela McKinley, individually, filed a complaint Sept. 6 in Harris County District Court against Park Manor of South Belt and HMG Park Manor of Southbelt LLC, alleging negligence and wrongful death.

According to the complaint, Boyette was 76 when admitted to Park Manor on July 26, 2018. Boyette, the suit states, was stable when she was admitted but required assistance from the Park Manor staff with daily activities.

The lawsuit alleges Boyette's health began to decline and on Aug. 14 ,2018, she began to have hallucinations and hypotensive episodes. She was taken to the emergency room at Memorial Hermann and, despite surgery, died Aug. 16, 2018, the suit states.

The plaintiffs allege Park Manor failed to recognize the patient's signs of sepsis that led to her death.

Morrow and McKinley seek trial by jury, monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by attorney Andrew Holcomb of Brown Christie & Green and Houston.
