HOUSTON — A property buyer is suing a New York development company, alleging he was misled about the potential and benefits of the new home.

Larry D. Ford filed a complaint on Sept. 9 in the Harris County District Court against Blackstone Group, alleging deceptive trade practices.

According to the complaint, Ford entered into an agreement to purchase a new home in Werrington subdivision I. The suit alleges Ford was sold the home and was told it would be an excellent retirement community.

The suit alleges that the home was not a good retirement community or a safe home as the subdivision became a popular place for drug raids, renters, law enforcement intervention and other disturbances.

Ford seeks trial by jury, damages of no less than $25 million, court costs, interest and all just relief. He is representing himself.
