HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing a Houston venue corporation, alleging he was injured when an elevator malfunctioned and fell two stories.
Lanzy Hines filed a complaint Sept. 9 in Harris County District Court against Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation, alleging liability and negligence.
According to the complaint, Hines was at the NRG Arena in Houston on April 22. The suit alleges Hines was working as housekeeping leadman and while riding an NRG Arena elevator it broke and fell two fell two floors.
The plaintiff says he sustained injuries to his left knee, lower back and neck and had to be transported by ambulance to Park Place Hospital. The suit states HCSCC should have known about the unsafe elevator.
Hines seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney Christopher K. Johns of Lapeze & Johns PLLC in Houston.
