HOUSTON — A Houston rental equipment agency serving the oil and gas industry is facing a class-action lawsuit by former employees who claim they were not paid for overtime work.
Austin Rackley filed a class-action complaint on Nov. 1 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Sky Hook Rig Supply, LLC, doing business as Sky Hook Services, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Rackley, who was employed by Sky Hook from March 7, 2019 through July 28, 2019 as a service technician, claims that he worked in excess of 40 hours per week and did not receive a salary "or a guaranteed fixed amount in any workweek," according to the suit.
Rackley also claims that Sky Hook violated the FLSA by failing to keep accurate time and pay records.
Rackley and the class seek monetary relief, interest and other just relief. They are represented by Melissa Moore of the Moore & Associates Law Firm in Houston.
