HOUSTON — A Houston woman is suing the owner of a dog that allegedly knocked her down and caused her injury and disfigurement.

Patti Halprin filed a complaint Nov. 8 in the Galveston County Circuit Court against Eugene Protas, alleging negligence. 

According to the complaint, on April 22, Halprin was an invited guest at Protas' home in League City along with her small dog. The suit states that while at Protas' home, Halprin was in the back yard next to her dog when Protas' large dog jumped out of his arms, ran toward her dog and knocked Halprin to the ground. 

According to the suit, Halprin suffered disfigurement and impairment from her injuries, physical pain and medical expenses. 

Halprin seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney R. Keith Weber, Jr of The Weber Law Firm in Houston.
