Centerpoint Energy alleges tree trimmers caused more than $5,000 damage to transformers

HOUSTON — Centerpoint Energy Houston Electric alleges a tree service company cutting trees close to the company's electrical line easement caused more than $5,000 worth of damage to its transformers. 

Centerpoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC filed a complaint  Nov. 15 in Galveston County District Court against John Doe, doing business as Stacy's Tree Service, and Felicia Prosser, alleging negligence and trespass. 

Centerpoint alleges that when the defendants were tree trimming Nov. 16, 2017 at Prosser's Elm Street address in Santa Fe, they caused branches to fall on Centerpoint's property, resulting in damages to electrical material and transformers, which cost Centerpoint $5,764.56 to repair. 

Centerpoint seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by attorneys Jeffrey Oppel and Rita Pattni of The Oppel & Goldberg Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
