HOUSTON — The Adams Law Firm in Katy faces a legal malpractice suit from a former client who alleges claims their attorneys falsely advised her to accept a divorce agreement that a trial court later found endangered her young child.

Christina Davis filed a complaint Nov. 26 in the Harris County District Court against The Adams Law Firm LLP , John Lemos and Kevin Christiansen alleging negligence and misconduct.

According to the complaint, Davis hired Adams Law to represent her in her divorce proceeding that involved the custody of her months-old son. On Feb. 22, 2018, 10 days after the divorce was finalized, Davis alleges she found pornography on her husband's computer that was left behind when he moved out.

She argues that the defendants advised her to not bring these findings to court, and that the court "would only grant a standard possession order in the absence of criminal charges."

On April 2, 2018, Davis alleges she was advised to accept a mediation agreement that allowed her ex-husband visitation rights and did not disclose his behavior. Under new council, on July 29, 2018 a trial court ruled the original settlement agreement was detrimental to the child.

Davis seeks montetary relief of more than $1 million, trial by jury, interest, court costs and all other just relief. She is represented attorneys Cletus Ernster III of The Ernster Law Firm PLLC in Houston and by Lance Christopher Kassab of The Kassab Law Firm in Houston.
